Medical Detox

As soon as you arrive at our Largo, FL, detox center, you will undergo a detailed medical assessment to help our treatment team determine which detox methods will be most beneficial for your unique case. Some options include MAT paired with holistic therapies.

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) – Pharmacological intervention—more commonly referred to as Medication Assisted Treatment [MAT]—is an important part of medical detox for some substances. At Guardian Recovery’s Tampa Addiction Center we utilize a number of effective medications alongside supportive measures as needed.

Holistic Treatment Methods – Holistic treatment methods can be extremely beneficial when it comes to alleviating psychological drug cravings and helping clients work through emotional and psychological discomfort. Some of the holistic methodologies we employ include acupuncture, massage therapy, physical therapy, mindfulness meditation, and yoga therapy. Clients are able to participate in holistically based workshops and group sessions.

Detox also includes a thorough introduction to the remainder of the recovery process. Plus, clients are encouraged to take advantage of the services we offer, and are welcome to relax in their well-appointed bedrooms as often as needed. Meals are provided, and ancillary services focus on a return to physical health.

Once withdrawal symptoms conclude and physical stabilization has been achieved, clients transition into the residential portion of our program.

Residential Inpatient Treatment

Residential inpatient treatment is an important part of many addiction recovery journeys for a number of reasons. First of all, the period of time immediately following detox is the most vulnerable for those who are new to sobriety. Cravings are intense, and a person hasn’t developed the skills they need to stay sober through challenging situations and uncomfortable emotions. Residential treatment provides a safe, secure, and substance-free environment during this particularly challenging time.

Additionally, clients have access to a range of proven treatment options—all in one place. At Tampa Addiction Center our residential program combines traditional talk therapy with innovative holistic approaches to recovery.

Clients undergo full days of individual, group, and family therapy, interwoven with group outings, educational workshops, peer support meetings, and a range of other services and activities. We focus on healing the mind, body and spirit as we help lay a solid foundation for continued sobriety. 

Additional Addiction Treatment Services

An in-depth clinical and medical assessment – Each client undergoes an assessment upon arrival, which helps our clinical and medical team determine which course of action will be most beneficial for each individual.

Case management services – Clients are paired with a case manager who walks them through the early recovery process and helps them develop personal treatment goals. Case managers also serve as the main point of contact between the clinical team and each client’s loved ones.

Individual and group therapy – Individual therapy sessions take place on a weekly basis, and group therapy sessions are offered at least once a day.

Family therapy – At Guardian Recovery’s Tampa Addiction Center we believe that family members should be heavily involved in every stage of the recovery process, from detox through aftercare.

Aftercare planning – Medical detox and inpatient care are only the first step. We offer rehab placement services and aftercare planning to ensure that clients have ongoing support following discharge.
