This facility is outstanding. The staff truly care about your wellbeing and want what is best for you. The Plymouth House saved my life. I was terrified to walk through the doors for the second time after trying to do things my way, but I was welcomed back with open arms. This place no doubt has become a home to me. I am beyond grateful for The Plymouth House and highly recommend to all.

Frequently Asked Questions

We work with most major insurance providers and offer free no-obligation insurance benefit checks for those who are interested in our program. Our treatment advisors will speak with your insurer, get a detailed verification of your insurance benefits, and share those details with you. Unfortunately Medicaid and Medicare do not cover our facility.

The Plymouth House is located in Plymouth, NH. Our campus sits in the foothills of White Mountain National Forest. We are approximately 2 hours north of Boston and 2 hours west of Portland, ME. Our address is:

Often traveling out of your home town is the best option for treatment. The temptation to leave treatment early or and likelihood of experiencing environmental relapse triggers is much lower when you are away from the people and places you associate with your substance misuse. The Plymouth House helps coordinate local ground transportation. If needed we can also help you book a flight and help you find reliable transportation to/from the airport so that you can safely and comfortably reach our facility.*

*Please note that the cost of transportation services, such as airfare, are the financial responsibility of our clients.

Our admissions process is quick and easy. Once you call us, one of our experienced treatment advisors will perform a brief pre-assessment. This takes about 10 minutes and will help you determine if The Plymouth House is the best fit for you or your loved one. After the assessment, we verify your insurance benefits and/or discuss alternative payment options before we arrange a time for your intake.

We encourage family members to be involved in their loved one’s treatment process. We offer regular visiting hours year-round with the following stipulations:

  • Clients at The Plymouth House must fill out a visitation request form for each intended visitor by Wednesday at noon for Saturday visitation. All visitors must be approved before Saturday.
  • Visitors are limited to family members and those instrumental to client recovery.
  • All visitors must sign in at the main office upon arrival and sign out at departure.
  • Any items visitors bring to guests must first be inspected and approved by staff.
  • Visitors are not allowed in the guest rooms or lounges.

We offer programs lengths individualized for each client. The duration of each treatment program is adjusted to meet the needs of the individual.

Access to these devices is limited. However, special arrangements can be made for individuals who need to conduct business or important personal matters.

We accept adults ages 18 or over.

While we strongly discourage leaving before treatment completion, we are not a lockdown facility. Clients are voluntary program participants and may leave when they choose. While in the residential inpatient program, clients are not allowed off grounds except when escorted by staff. During PHP, clients can  leave the grounds when accompanied by a staff member.

Clients who need to take off work to attend treatment may be eligible for the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). FMLA ensures that you will not be terminated while taking a leave of absences from work to attend treatment. Our admissions and case management staff can help with setting up any FMLA paperwork. For clients who are self employed, we offer an executive program that allows for phone and laptop access in certain cases during business hours.

Clients reside in comfortable, semi-private rooms during residential treatment and PHP. At this time, we do not offer single-occupancy bedrooms.

Yes. Tobacco products are allowed in our facility, but smoking is only permitted in designated areas.

Absolutely. We understand that addiction affects the entire family system, and we encourage families to participate in their loved one’s treatment. To help families recover we also offer intervention services, case management, and family workshops.

Yes. We believe in complete and total confidentiality and privacy for all of our clients. We take extra measures to make sure we go above and beyond HIPAA and health privacy standards. If you are concerned about specific privacy requirements, reach out with additional questions.

The cost of treatment varies from person-to-person based on the level of treatment needed. The good news is that The Plymouth House works with many health insurance companies to provide treatment to individuals at a manageable cost.
